In 2024, the Ministry of Public Works and Transport generated revenue of 2,281 million Riel from water, sea, and port transportation services, reflecting a 3.87% increase compared to 2023.
This information was presented in a report during the 2024 work summary and 2025 work direction conference of the Ministry of Public Works and Transport, held on January 22, 2025.
The conference was chaired by Peng Ponea, Minister of Public Works and Transport, at the Ministry’s headquarters.According to the report, the Ministry provided registration services in 2024 for 26 water vessels and 10 sea vessels, contributing to the total revenue of 2,281 million riels. This marks an increase from the 2,196 million riels recorded in 2023.
Additionally, the Sihanoukville Autonomous Port reported a total cargo transit volume of 9.60 million tons (import and export), generating approximately 110.38 million US dollars in revenue. This represents a 24.12% increase compared to the 88.94 million US dollars recorded in 2023.
The Phnom Penh Autonomous Port also handled a total of 4.51 million tons of cargo transit (import and export), achieving total revenue of approximately 43.45 million US dollars. This signifies a 16.60% increase from the 37.27 million US dollars recorded in 2023.
