Despite frequent storms and heavy rainfall, the progress of the project to improve Siem Reap’s wastewater treatment plan continues.
Chao Sopheak, Deputy Director General of the General Department of Wastewater Treatment Systems, led a technical team to inspect the construction work to improve the wastewater treatment plant (MPWT-CW4) in Siem Reap.
The aim of the inspection is to monitor and evaluate the progress of the company in charge of the construction to ensure the achievement of responsible work efficiency in accordance with the contract.
The technical team also inspected the condition of two new pumping stations, focusing on the technical characteristics to conduct detailed studies. They met to discuss the work with the company in charge of the construction of the road to be installed in the drainage network.
Aside from the wastewater treatment plants in Siem Reap, new wastewater treatment plants are also under construction in Preah Sihanouk and Phnom Penh. These are part of the government’s aim to increase environmental protection and provide service to the growing population.
