Prime Minister Hun Sen has ordered the Inter-ministerial Committee for the construction and renovation of roads in Siem Reap city to also construct a sewerage system for more than 12,000 households free of charge.
In announcing this on Saturday, Defence Minister General Tea Banh, who held a meeting with high ranking government officials in Siem Reap city, said this comes as a piece of good news for the people.
They not only get to enjoy the 38 new roads that are being constructed in the city but also a free sewerage system that is ordered to be built, he said.
According to the Ministry of Public Works and Transport, 12,299 households will be connected to the main sewerage system.
The ministry added that besides the sewerage system, parking facilities will also be built using concrete and 15 centimetres thick of steel wire on National Road 6 in Siem Reap city.
