The Department of Public Works and Transport of Kampong Chhnang Province has been implementing a project to repair and expand the remaining section of National Road 53 before the rainy season. The technical officer of the Department of Public Works and Transport said this morning that the project to repair and expand NR 53 started from Sre Thmei commune in Rolea Bier district. The road project includes the paving of the road and measures 2,270 metres long. The section of NR 53 that runs through the territory of Kampong Chhnang under the control of the Department of Public Works and Transport is 70 kilometres from Kampong Chhnang to the border of Kampong Speu. The officials said that if there is no obstacles or heavy rain, which will disrupt the project, the project will be finished in May 2023.
