According to a recent update shared by H.E. Phorn Rim, spokesperson of the Ministry of Public Works and Transport, the bridge itself has been completed to 98.44%, while the main roads and access roads have reached 99.09% completion. The spokesperson further stated that the Cambodia–China Mekong Kratie Friendship Bridge will be officially opened for permanent public use starting from April 1, 2026. It is worth noting that the bridge and its connecting infrastructure represent a key strategic project aimed at enhancing connectivity and serving as a vital link between communities living on the eastern and western banks of the Mekong River. The project also connects remote areas in the northeastern region to urban centers, linking Kratie Province to Kampong Thom Province, and integrating with major national highways that connect to other provinces.
