On the afternoon of May 10, 2017, at the Institute of Technology of Cambodia (ITC), the World Economic Forum hosted an Open Forum titled “The ASEAN Dream” which was attended by over 2700 students. 

Featured speakers included Mr. Anthony Fernandes, Group CEO, AirAsia Malaysia, H.E Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, Minister attached to the Prime Minister of Cambodia, Mr. William Tanuwijaya, Founder of Tokopedia online shopping in Malaysia; Ms. Wai Wai Nu, Founder and Director Women Peace Network, Myanmar, and moderated by Mr. Jamil Anderlini, Asia Editor of the Financial Times.

The Open Forum centered on what the student’s future might look like as shaped by the “ASEAN dream”.

This open event to the public was a successful “kick-off” of the World Economic Forum ASEAN that is being hosted by the Cambodian people and taking place between May 10 – 12 in Phnom Penh, attracting government, private sector and NGO thought leaders under the theme of “Youth, Technology and Growth”.
