Senior Minister Sun Chanthol, Minister of Public Works and Transport, announced that the construction of the Phnom Penh-Bavet Expressway will begin on 2023.Construction of the expressway is $1.63 billion, according to the announcement made by Senior Minister Chanthol this morning, on the occasion of presiding over the signing of the Framework Agreement (FA) for the construction of the Phnom Penh-Bavet Expressway between the Cambodian Royal Government and the China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC).
“This expressway is 138 kilometres long and will bridge across the Mekong River…and the budget is about $1.638 million. This road is scheduled to open in 2023 and be completed by the end of 2026 or early 2027,” said the Senior Minister.
Chanthol that the Phnom Penh-Bavet Expressway will be completed at the same time as the Ho Chi Minh City-Mok Bai Expressway to connect With Cambodia’s expressway.
He said that the expressway is very important in connecting China from Burma to Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam.
